Running the Gauntlet

Was invited to a friends VSF wargame - played out using the In Her Majesty's Name rules.

This was suppose to be the 'final part' of an ongoing series of scenarios - naturally things didn't turn out as expected.

The Prussians, and their 'guest', Queen Victoria are hanging out up river at a friendly Sultan's palace. They are awaiting transportation back home. The British are, naturally, attempting to rescue her.

Miniatures and Terrain - Queen Victoria's Carriage is 'escorted' by a Prussian Heavy Tank and a four-legged 'Walker' as they exit the Gates of the Sultan's Palace. Light Tanks have gone on ahead

It resulted in a mad table length dash for the harbour as craft from both sides turned up - A Gunboat for the British and Captain Nemo's Nautilus for the Prussians!

Neither side knows exactly what the goal of the other side is. This lead to the British concentrating their forces on the palace, only to see that the Prussians making a dash for the harbour. At first they thought it was just a sortie by the Light Tanks, only realising what was going on when Victoria's carriage appeared.

The Sultan's forces are manning the large harbour defense gun.

Both side are unsure where the Sultan's troops loyalties lie, but so long as no civilian casualties occurs they will remain neutral. This was quite difficult to do as Camels were proving to be quite a speed bump.

Miniature and Terrain - Prussian and British Tanks face off down alley-ways. Squads of troopers from both sides take cover in Arab style building.

The British do managed to get the remains of one platoon the her carriage, but get snarled up in hand-ti-hand as the carriage heads onwards towards the Submarine.

View of the large Nautilus submarine, recently berthed in the Harbour. It has come to pick up the Prussians and the British Queen. Two Prussian Light Tanks can be seen defending the Quayside. Queen Victoria has been forced out of her carriage and is being escorted towards the submarine.

View of the city from the British gunboat. The gunboat is trying to stop the Prussian exit and has disembarked some Naval troops. The Sultan's Palace can be seen in the far distance. The large Harbour defence gun, manned by the Sultan's troops (who are remaining neutral), can be seen top-left.

Queen Victoria is forced to leave her carriage and onto the quayside.
A British cavalry charge along the quay had been repulsed by the Prussian Count and Countess with help from their mad-scientist friends. The Royal Naval platoon now has the face two light tanks.

Against the odds the Prussians once more escape with the Queen!
