Papal Problems

Things slow down as only the one year gets completed. No sea battles this year, but plenty of action over ports. And the Papal States start to get squeezed a bit.

From Italian Hordes
1499

Spring

Battle of Treviso, Viennese verses HRE, HRE wins with only minor losses as Viennese artillery gets destroyed.

Summer

Spanish invasions of Pistioa and Modena, both belonging to Romagna. Pistioa defended by forces from Savoy and Milan. Ancona and Sienna under attack. Token Papal forces, including a holy horde leader, prevent them falling to siege. Spoleto falls to siege by Romagna, the first original Papal territory to fall.

Autumn

HRE recapture Trieste from the Viennese. Pope once more fights two token battles against Naples to prevent the inevitable sieges.

Winter

Pope trades port of Ancona to Spain for a considerable amount after others refuse to purchase it. Romagna and Naples swaps and consolidates territories (Capatanata, Moeise and Spoleto for the cities of Florence and Pibimo), much to Romagna's economic advantage.

The current standing appear to be as follows, from what I can tell from the map...

Romagna - 10 provinces, 22 income
Naples - 10 provinces, 16 income
Venice - 10, 14 income
Savoy - 7+3 provinces, 13+3 income (+ Milan lackeys)
Spain - 8 provinces, 20 income
Papal - 6 provinces, 10 income
Holy Roman Empire - 4 provinces (non-Italian), 6 income
